Our Story
Roots
Wild Hearts Nursery began as a busy, full-service operation—staffed daily and stocked with plants trucked in from afar. When the 2008 recession reached the Methow Valley in 2011, everything changed. It was just the two of us, Dan and Erin—plus our newborn—rethinking our future. We shifted gears and began to grow our own plants—from seed, cuttings, and divisions—right here on our land.
Shoots
Growing our own stock brought unexpected freedom. We selected seeds for toughness, watched them thrive in local conditions, and saw firsthand how much better they performed than imported plants. This hands-on process made us different—and better. Customers noticed. Their plants succeeded. We weren’t just making sales; we were helping people plant smarter.
Blooms
Today, our nursery spans three growing plots, filled with regionally adapted trees, shrubs, and perennials. We’re always learning, always experimenting. Our work brings deep satisfaction—and our customers feel it too. They leave confident, informed, and excited to plant the right plants in the right places. That’s the heart of Wild Hearts: stronger plants, better outcomes, and a shared passion for growing.

Our Values
Our values drive everything we do, ensuring we provide honest advice, expert insight, and thoughtful support to every gardener.
Integrity
Our goal is to provide the right plant for the needs of each customer, making sure what we grow will thrive in the long run, not just selling eye candy for an impulse buy.
Knowledge
We think it is our duty to seek out what plants grow well in our climate by continually educating ourselves through trial and error, study, and listening to our customers.
Guidance
We care deeply about giving good advice, solving problems, and sharing our knowledge. We’re passionate about providing the guidance you need to discover your green thumb.
